Nandos
Nando's is a South African multinational fast casual chain that specialises in flame-grilled peri-peri style chicken.
Founded in Johannesburg in 1987, Nando's operates over 1,200 outlets across 30 countries. Nando’s originally reached out to us back in February 2022 looking for support across their category buying team, this was due to their ever-growing demand and evolving restaurant menu. To support with the recent economical struggles and demand of the nationally loved “Peri-peri Style Chicken”, Circle Select partnered with Nando's to tackle supply chain and procurement requirements.
By Partnering with Circle Select we were able to:
- Support with long term improvement and development strategies within Nando’s brand guidelines
- Develop supplier partnerships
- Support with Nando’s sustainability agenda
- Deliver talent that can work cross functionally with multiple internal stakeholders to work effectively within the specific category
To aid these goals Circle Select began talent pooling the best Supply chain and Procurement experience in the market with Food catering and Food manufacturing experience. Circle select shortlisting process has a robust and trusted mechanism, which ensures all contractors that were sent to Nando’s had relevant experience within the desired field and each candidate was fully referenced by multiple previous hiring managers.
The talent we delivered exceeded expectations… as Circle Select provided a Category Buyer within the Drinks division, another in the marketing buying function and also a Buyer within the Poultry division. All candidates were started within a two-week period from initially shortlisting the talent. Furthermore, two of the Category buyers were offered permanent positions after the contractual time frame was completed.
We continue to support Nando’s with Procurement and Supply Chain requirements, and we look forward to strengthening our working relationship with the globally loved Restaurant Chain in other functions in the future!
